Geospatial Grimoire is a community of cartographers, researchers, and enthusiasts united by a passion for geospatial technologies and the creation of imaginary worlds. Our project was founded at the end of 2024 and has since welcomed members who contribute their ideas and expertise.
We stand at the intersection of technology and creativity: using GIS tools to build digital maps, exploring new approaches to visualization, and creating accessible geospatial data that can be used in role-playing games and artistic projects.
What We Do

Mapping imaginary worlds: We apply professional GIS methods to create detailed maps of fantasy and gaming universes. Our main project is Toril GIS, a geospatial database for the Forgotten Realms.

Developing open tools and data: We create and share datasets, styles, and methods that can be used in QGIS and other GIS programs.
